HKP Election Commission to be formed some time in July 2023.

In his Media Analytica program today, Victor Ho, Chairperson of the HKPEOC, announced that it will be replaced by the HKP Election Commission some time in July 2023. While Victor Ho said that details of the Commission’s scope of responsibilities and powers will be made known at that time, he did not clarify when details of the election process itself will be disclosed.

I suggest that details of the setup should be given in writing at this time, further to this verbal announcement. As well, members of the HKPEOC should contribute to articles on the process, using pseudonyms if need be. Otherwise, I have no doubt that the Moderators could do this well.

The HKPEOC desperately needs to reverse the public perception of its lethargy and unnecessary secrecy and salvage its reputation as an organization that advocates for true democracy.
